Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 3,   Pages 287-436 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000033

Abstract: We built a Tm:Ho co-doped fiber laser using a TiC material as a saturable absorber (SA). The formation of s (VSs) and s (NLPs) was observed. The SA was prepared by dripping a TiC solution on a side-polished D-shaped fiber and then naturally vaporized. The VS is characterized by two coexisting sets of Kelly sidebands. By modulating the polarization controller in the fiber laser, NLPs with about 3.3 nm bandwidth can be switched from the VS. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that VSs have been generated in a fiber laser using a TiC material as the SA.

Souza, Moises C. Bezerril, Mateus A. Silva, Frank C.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 7,   Pages 1002-1009 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000149

Abstract: This work presents the application of the technique named signal analysis based on using density of maxima to analyze brushless direct current motors. It uses a correlation coefficient estimated from the density of maxima of the current signal. This study demonstrates in experiments the speed estimation of a brushless motor on a testbench and in a small flying drone. The experimental results demonstrate that it is possible to estimate the speed in 97.8% of the cases and to detect failure in 82.75% of the analyzed cases.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 4,   Pages 348-364 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500347

Abstract: This paper seeks to determine how the overlap of several infrared beams affects the tracked position of the user, depending on the angle of incidence of light, distance to the target, distance between sensors, and the number of capture devices used. We also try to show that under ideal conditions using several Kinect sensors increases the precision of the data collected. The results obtained can be used in the design of telerehabilitation environments in which several RGB-D cameras are needed to improve precision or increase the tracking range. A numerical analysis of the results is included and comparisons are made with the results of other studies. Finally, we describe a system that implements intelligent methods for the rehabilitation of patients based on the results of the tests carried out.

Generalized labeled multi-Bernoulli filter with signal features of unknown emitters Research Article

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 12,   Pages 1871-1880 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200286

Abstract:

A novel algorithm that combines the (GLMB) filter with signal features of the unknown emitter is proposed in this paper. In complex electromagnetic environments, emitter features (EFs) are often unknown and time-varying. Aiming at the unknown feature problem, we propose a method for identifying EFs based on of data fields. Because EFs are time-varying and the probability distribution is unknown, an improved algorithm is proposed to calculate the correlation coefficients between the target and measurements, to approximate the EF likelihood function. On this basis, the EF likelihood function is integrated into the recursive GLMB filter process to obtain the new prediction and update equations. Simulation results show that the proposed method can improve the tracking performance of multiple targets, especially in heavy clutter environments.

Modeling of alkali-silica reaction in concrete: a review

WANG, Q.C. SUN, C.H. ZHANG, D.R.J. OWEN

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2012, Volume 6, Issue 1,   Pages 1-18 doi: 10.1007/s11709-012-0141-2

Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive review of modeling of alkali-silica reaction (ASR) in concrete. Such modeling is essential for investigating the chemical expansion mechanism and the subsequent influence on the mechanical aspects of the material. The concept of ASR and the mechanism of expansion are first outlined, and the state-of-the-art of modeling for ASR, the focus of the paper, is then presented in detail. The modeling includes theoretical approaches, meso- and macroscopic models for ASR analysis. The theoretical approaches dealt with the chemical reaction mechanism and were used for predicting pessimum size of aggregate. Mesoscopic models have attempted to explain the mechanism of mechanical deterioration of ASR-affected concrete at material scale. The macroscopic models, chemo-mechanical coupling models, have been generally developed by combining the chemical reaction kinetics with linear or nonlinear mechanical constitutive, and were applied to reproduce and predict the long-term behavior of structures suffering from ASR. Finally, a conclusion and discussion of the modeling are given.
